Still hatching · Coming to macOS in late October
The skin for agents.
Your agents do the work. Lobster nudges you only when your attention is needed, and nothing ships without your review.
Works with Claude CodeCodex, Cursor CLI and more in early December
∆Why Lobster exists
Agents stopped answering. They started doing.
A chat box was fine for questions. When an agent does the actual work, you need four things:
- ☄
Delegate
Hand off a goal in seconds, without babysitting.
- ◐
Be called only when needed
Your attention is the scarce thing.
- ±
See what changed
Clearly enough to trust it, part by part.
- ↗
Close the loop
Turn approved work into a commit and a PR.
☄How it works
Treat agents like colleagues. Review their work like a PR.
Every task gets its own tank, and only finished or stuck work comes to you. Every change gets a human look before it ships, so you catch AI mistakes before they land.
-
?01
Hatch
Press ⌘N and name the task. Lobster gives it its own worktree and branch, then starts the agent.
-
∆02
Scuttle
The agent works in its own tank. Your project folder stays untouched.
-
◐03
Claws up
Done or stuck? It lands in your Needs you inbox. Nothing else pings you.
-
✂04
Snip
Read the real diff. Keep or snip each hunk, or send the agent back with a note.
-
↗05
Ship it
Approve. Only what you kept becomes one commit and a pull request.
✦Take it for a swim
Same lobster. Two moods.
Light or dark glass. Calm labels or full lobster. The personality is a real setting, and it never touches your diffs, errors, commits or PR text.
Where → what → act. Needs you and projects on the left, the queue in the middle, the review on the right. Click a task, keep or snip a hunk, switch to Lane, or click Needs you.
The + tab. Write the task, pick a model, set how hard it may pinch you. Above it, the tank: agents that shipped this week swim by. Click one.
Quick Add. ⌘N in Lobster, or a global shortcut from any app. Only the title is required. Shake the egg to reroll the glyph.
Ship it. Only the kept hunks become one commit; Lobster pushes and opens the PR. The PR text is always plain. Go on, press the button.
Needs you, in the menu bar. Triage without opening the window. Only two things interrupt you: ready for review, and needs input.
Every live session, in a table. Glyphs turn process IDs into characters. Strays started outside Lobster show as a dashed egg until you adopt them.
Native Claude Code sessions. Replies, permission requests and questions appear as cards. Changes and Preview open beside the chat.
The task's worktree, read-only. Files the agent edited wear its glyph; files it only read show ◌. Click a file, or a path in the chat.
Appearance. Glass follows the system. Personality is Calm, Playful or Full lobster, and Calm takes over when Reduce Motion is on.
